New to cotton?

Monsanto biotech traits in Australia have provided cotton growers with excellent insect control (through Bollgard® technology) and weed control (through Roundup Ready® Flex technology) since their introduction in 1996.

Cotton varieties incorporating these traits offer a significant boost to productivity over conventional varieties while reducing environmental impacts. These benefits include fewer pesticide applications, easier crop management and increased profitability.

Bollgard 3® is the third generation product, providing in-built protection against the larvae of Helicoverpa spp., one of the cotton industry’s most significant insect pests.

There is a technology fee for growing cotton varieties that include Monsanto traits– a cost that is in addition to that of the seed.

By growing Bollgard 3/Roundup Ready Flex, Bollgard II®/Roundup Ready Flex,  Bollgard II or Roundup Ready Flex varieties  in the 2016/17 cotton season you can be eligible for Cotton Choices™ – a program that lets you choose between three options by field as to when you pay your Monsanto technology fee:

Cotton Choices™ 1: Price Discount

Cotton Choices™ 2: Late Crop Removal

Cotton Choices™ 3: End Point Royalty

  • An up-front discount for payment by 28 February 2017
  • Suited for fields with secure and reliable access to water/moisture and environmental conditions
